We strive to host and/or participate in community events, partner with other community agencies and educate and support the community to further the Pride Movement in Medicine Hat and District. We are a not for profit society, and we believe:
Pride is for Everyone!

Started by Donny White, Charlie Thompson and others during the AIDS crisis in the early 1990s, the organization "Prairie Pride" brought together queer leaders in Medicine Hat and fought for understanding and equality. We pay respects to Charlie and others before us with our shared history and through our name: Prairie Pride Guild.

Since our founding in 2024, Prairie Pride Guild has made a significant impact in the lives of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and their families. We host an annual Pride for Everyone event, and look forward to our continued positive engagement with the community, for many years to come.
The Prairie Pride Guild of Medicine Hat and District acknowledges that we live and work on treaty territory. Medicine Hat is situated on Treaty 7 and neighbour to Treaty 4 territory. Traditional lands of the Siksika (Blackfoot), Kainai (Blood), Piikani (Peigan), Stoney Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina (Sarcee) as well as the Cree, Sioux, and the Saulteaux bands of the Ojibwa peoples. Homelands of the Métis Nation District 2 Battle River Territory.
Two-spirit was a complex role and identity that modern-day two-spirited individuals can use to reclaim traditions related to gender identity, sexual preference, spiritual identity and traditional roles. We recognize that our Two Spirit and Indigi-queer elders, friends, and community have, and always will, take an honoured place of guidance and support to these ancestral and unceeded lands that belong to them.
